Darrell William "Dally" Ballowe, 53, of Hot Springs died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, in a Little Rock hospital. Born Aug. 7, 1947, at Hot Springs, he was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, sergeant in Special Forces and Purple Heart recipient. He was predeceased by his father, James F. Ballowe. Survivors include his mother, Iva Ballowe of Hot Springs; one daughter, Carey Gates of Hot Springs; two sons, Darren Ballowe of Fordyce and Terry Ballowe of Hot Springs; four grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Carol Brooke and Patricia and C.J. Young, all of Hot Springs; and four brothers and two sisters-in-law, James and Augusta Ballowe of El Centro, Calif., Greg and Debbie Ballowe of Fayetteville, Randy Ballowe of Hot Springs and Richard Ballowe of Oklahoma. Jasmine Keyera Brown, infant, of Hot Springs died Sunday, July 29, 2001. She was born July 6, 2001. Survivors include her mother, Kristie Honey of Hot Springs; her father, Jasmas Brown of Grambling, La.; her grandparents, Geneva Honey and Michael Easter, both of Hot Springs, and Lorrane Lewis and Derrick Lewis, both of Grambling; and her great-grandparents, Fred and Pearlie Honey of Mountain Pine.  The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Friendship Cemetery with the Rev. ARKADELPHIA - Oma Ved Cox, 82, of Arkadelphia died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001. Born Aug. 25, 1918, to G.O. and Beulah Nelson Hawkins, she was past president of Arkansas Veterinary Medical Auxiliary, former state revenue inspector for Clark County and member of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church in Donaldson. She was predeceased by one brother, Buford Hawkins. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Joe E. Cox of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Jo Elaine Cox of Arkadelphia; and two brothers, Quinton Hawkins of Paris, Texas, and Byrd Hawkins of Sulphur Springs, Texas.  The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home chapel with Elder Sonny Phelan officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Campbell, Bud Reeder, Kenny Scott, Buford Newman, Tim Phelan and Paul Quattlebaum. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today. Marvin E. Faulkner, 78, of Hot Springs died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, in a Little Rock hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1922, at Bismarck to George and Hattie Faulkner. He was predeceased by one brother, Lester Faulkner, and one sister, Myrtle Miller. Survivors include his wife, Marie Faulkner of Hot Springs; two daughters and one son-in-law, Melba and Olen Dalton of Hot Springs and Becky Alexander of Aptos, Calif.; one sister, Maggie Thornton of Malvern; and two grandchildren, Greg Dalton and Melissa Dalton.  The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Gross Funeral Home chapel with Brothers Terry Bewley and Hollis Looper officiating. HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE - Henry Dewitt Beeson, 81, of Hot Springs Village died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, in a Hot Springs hospital. Born Aug. 26, 1920, at Winston Salem, N.C., he had an industrial engineering degree from Georgia Tech, was an Alcoa sales executive and member of Village United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Cox Beeson of Hot Springs Village; one son, Mark Henry Beeson of Denver; three stepsons, Bill Wilkes of Memphis, Tenn., John Wilkes of Houston and Chuck Wilkes of San Antonio; one daughter, Amy Beeson Felgar of Portsmouth, N.H.; two stepdaughters, Peggy Harper of Fayetteville and Carol Quenzer of Kingwood, Texas; and six grandchildren. There will be no service. The body will be cremated. Arrangements are by CedarVale Funeral Home.

TEXARKANA, Texas - Stairley B. Dalby, 88, of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, in a Texarkana, Texas, nursing home. Born Nov. 23, 1912, in Miller County, she was a homemaker, member of First United Methodist Church, PEO, YWCA and ` Bridge Club and founding member and past president of Texarkana Law Wives. She was predeceased by her husband, Judge Robert L. Dalby.  Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert E. and Marti Dalby of Hot Springs and John and Carol Dalby of Texarkana, Ark.; four grandchildren, Kathryn Dalby, Mary Dalby, Robert Dalby and Caroline Dalby; one brother-in-law, Robert Finley of Victoria, Texas; two nieces; and one nephew. Jacob Austin Heller, 24, of Hot Springs died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001. Born May 11, 1977, at Hot Springs, he was in the Arkansas National Guard. He was predeceased by his father, Duane Heller. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Heller of Hot Springs; one son, Connor Duane Heller of Hot Springs; his mother, Olivia Heller of Hot Springs; one sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Mark Eastwood of Little Rock; and his grandmother, Louise Heller of Russellville. She was predeceased by her husband, Obadiah "O.B." Houpt. Survivors include three sons, Richard Houpt and David Houpt, both of Lonsdale, and Gary Houpt of Social Circle, Ga.; seven daughters, Virginia Whitener of Hemphell, Texas, Hazel Gentry of Lonsdale, Irma Fryar of Doraville, Ga., Belva Daniels of Hot Springs, and Mary Toney, Vickee Counts Pearson and Darlene Loftis, all of Benton; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren. The service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Lonsdale Baptist Church with Brother William Brock and Brother Albert Houpt officiating. He predeceased by his father; a son, Gregg Jester; and a brother Kelsie Jester. Survivors include one son, John Riley of Mesquite, Texas; five daughters, Janis Latta of Hot Springs, Jimmie Howell of Alexander, Patsy Teagarden of Houston, Ilena Spradlin of Texarkana, Texas, and Donna Fugitt of Benton; one brother, John B. Born Jan. 26, 1982, at Hot Springs to James and Linda Abernathy, he was a Mount Ida High School graduate, employed at Bob's Food City, member of Faith Tabernacle and first responder with Mount Ida Volunteer Fire Department. He was predeceased by his grandparents, L.L. and Ozellar Abernathy. Survivors include his parents of Mount Ida; three sisters, Jamie Mullins and Rebecca Abernathy, both of Mount Ida, and Cari Moyer of Columbia, S.C.; his grandparents, Norman and Edith Hopson of Mount Ida; three nieces, Kristen Mullins, Breanna Mullins and Jessica Moyer; two nephews, Andrew Moyer and Eli Abernathy; aunts; uncles; and cousins. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Danny Kirkpatrick and Stevie and Veneda Kirkpatrick, all of Glenwood; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Jerry Cogburn of Glenwood; five brothers, Dewey Cogburn, Kenneth Cogburn and Grandville Cogburn, all of Glenwood, Wayne Cogburn of Murfreesboro and LD. Towell Mathis, he was a UCA student, inductee of Arkansas Chapter National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, Hooten Scholar athlete, member of Lake Hamilton Baptist Church and on Arkadelphia High School Badgers volunteer coaching staff. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Rusty and Stacy Mathis of Arkadelphia; his mother and stepfather, Sandra and Jack Clark of Monette; three sisters, Savannah Mathis and Jessica Clark, both of Monette, and Journey Nolan of Arkadelphia; one brother, Torin Nolan of Arkadelphia; and his grandparents, Sonny and Peggy Mathis of Leachville and Pete and Tootsie Towell of Monette. She was predeceased by four brothers. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Rose and Jerry Patton and Joy and Carl Herrell, all of Hot Springs; one sister, Ruby Warren of Fayetteville; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The service will be 2 p.m. today in Hot Springs Funeral Home chapel with Brother Van Glidewell officiating. MALVERN - Janet Cook Spicer, 88, of Malvern died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, in a Malvern nursing home. Born June 23, 1913, at Buckner to Charles and Ether Hamilton Cook, she was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Spicer. Survivors include six sons, Garland Spicer, Alan Spicer, Richard Spicer and Walter Spicer, all of Oklahoma, and Charles Spicer and Sidney Spicer, both of Malvern; one brother, Freddie Cook of England; three sisters, Elene Foltz of Russellville, Isabella Knighton of Lafayette, La., and Lorene Cook of Little Rock; and grandchildren.
