Beverly Ann Neal
Services for Beverly Ann Neal, 73, the former Beverly Ann Perrodin,
will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev.

Home Chapel.
A native of St. Martinville and resident of New Iberia for many years,
Mrs. Neal died at 10:35 a.m. Friday, May 1, 1998, in Iberia Medical Center
from a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Neal is survived by one son, Vernon Neal Jr. of New Iberia; three
daughters, Linda Neal Broussard of Houston, Beverly Neal Nezzete and Betty
Neal Alexander, both of New Iberia; one brother, Peter Perrodin of New
Iberia; five sisters, Isabelle Batiste of New Iberia, Arabelle Batiste
of Lafayette, Darcine Perrodin of St. Martinville, Edna Fields of Galveston,
Texas, and Diane Narcisse of Houston; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Neal was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Neal Sr.; her
father, Lionel Perrodin; her mother, Florida Guidry; and three brothers,
Warren Perrodin, Rannel Perrodin and Lawrence Perrodin.
Pallbearers will be friends and family members.

Sydney Beauxis
Services for Sydney Marie Beauxis, 77, will begin at 4 p.m. Monday
at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany with the Rev. Mike Adams officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
By the request of the family, there will be no visitation at the funeral
home.
A native of Gueydan and resident of New Iberia, Ms. Beauxis died at
9:35 a.m. Friday, May 1, 1998, at a local nursing home.
Ms. Beauxis attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, Louisiana
State University and Tulane University, where she received a master’s in
social work. She was a social service worker for the American Red Cross
and worked in Germany, Japan, Korea and the American southeast.
Ms. Beauxis is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Beauxis Ledbetter
of Sylva, NC; two nephews, Jim Ledbetter of Orlando, Fla. and Tom Ledbetter
of Galveston, Texas and one great-niece, Addie Ledbetter of Orlando.
Ms. Beauxis was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Dorothy
Snoddy Beauxis, and one brother, James F. Beauxis.

LOREAUVILLE – Services for Rose “Gram” Doucette, 89, the former Rose
Antoine, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church

St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. rosary, at the
Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Monday, with
the motorcade traveling to Loreauville.
A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia for many years,
Mrs. Doucette died at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at Iberia Medical
Center, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Doucette was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and
the altar society. She was employed by Bishop Vincent Harris of Beaumont,
Texas, for many years.
Mrs. Doucette is survived by one son, Daniel Clarence Doucette Sr.
of New Iberia; one daughter, Mary Myrtle Doucette Williams of New Iberia;
four granddaughters, Berrinda Gregorie Davis, Belinda Gregorie and Tamika
Williams, all of New Iberia and Patricia Lewis of Port Arthur, Texas; 10
grandsons, Danny Gregorie of Dayton, Texas, Warren Gregorie Sr., Jonathan
Gregorie, Grayling Gregorie, Jaymie Williams Sr., Daniel Doucette Jr. and
Neil Doucette, all of New Iberia, Paul Lewis and Darrell Lewis of Port
Arthur and Dwight Lewis of Oakland, Calif.; 51 great-grandchildren and
12 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Doucette was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Doucette;
her parents, Ernest and Louise Vital Antoine Sr.; one daughter, Mary Stannie
Lewis; three brothers, Leonard, Morris and Ernest Antoine Jr.; two sisters,
Bertha Barnes and Harriet Antoine; two grandaughters, Myrtle Rose Gregorie
and Rose Marie Doucette; and one great-grandchild, Carlon Gregorie.

Delbert R. Todd
YOUNGSVILLE - Services for Delbert Ray Todd, 43, will begin at 10:30
a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Vu officiating.
Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David
Funeral Home in Broussard, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
A native of Kewanee, Ill., and resident of Youngsville, Mr. Todd died
at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, May 3, 1998, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
He was a facilities manager for OSCA of Lafayette for over 17 years.
Mr. Todd passed away after a seven-year battle with cancer. He was a former
resident of New Iberia and played with numerous bands in and around Acadiana
as an organist. The last band he played with was “Horizon” of New Iberia.
He was the organist for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in New Iberia
for 12 years and also at St. Anne’s Church for four years. Mr. Todd graduated
from Kewanee High School, was a graduate from Augustine College in Rock
Island, Ill., and from USL of Lafayette with a master’s degree in business
administration.
Mr. Todd is survived by his wife, Jenny Parich Todd of Youngsville;
two sons, Adam J. Todd and Andy P. Todd, both of Youngsville; two daughters,
Alison Marin and Aimee Todd, both of Youngsville; his parents, Vern K.
Todd and Bette Hamm Todd of Kewanee; his maternal grandmother, Edna Hamm
of Kewanee; one brother, Randy and his wife, Linda Todd of Kewanee; one
sister, Mrs. Dave (Rebecca) Mitro of Kewanee; his father-in-law and mother-in-law,
Sam Parich Sr. and Aimee Parich of New Iberia; three brothers-in-law, Mike
Parich of New Iberia, Wesley Parich and Sam Parich Jr., both of Houston;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ray Hamm; and
his paternal grandparents, Vern K. Todd and Edith Todd.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family of Mr. Todd would like to extend their heartfelt and deepest
thanks to Hospice of Acadiana for making this difficult illness and time
a very comforting good-bye. Their care will never be forgotten.

KAPLAN - Services for Hillary Paul “Buck” Landry, 57, were held at

A resident of Maurice, Mr. Landry died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, May 2,
1998, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanelle Duhon Landry of Maurice; one son,
Carol Landry and his wife Rhonda of Kaplan; one daughter, Sharon Herpin
and her husband Tommy of Maurice; his father, Chester A. Landry Sr. of
Erath; four brothers, Andrew Landry of Erath, Jessie Landry of Delcambre,
Albert C. Landry Jr. and Willis P. Landry, both of New Iberia; seven sisters,
Ruby Louviere and Lucille L. Horton, both of Jeanerette, Grace LeBlanc
and Shirley Delahoussaye, both of New Iberia, Barbara Saucier of Erath,
Delores Landry of Duson and Jeanelle L. Romero of Coteau; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Landry was preceded in death by his mother, Elgie Hebert Landry;
and two brothers, Stephen Landry and Isaac Landry.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Ms. Comeaux died at 8:58 a.m.
Sunday, May 3, 1998, at her residence.
She was employed as a clerk for more than 10 years for Gary’s Drug
Store.
Ms. Comeaux is survived by her mother, Yolande Broussard Comeaux of
New Iberia; five brothers, Barry P. Comeaux, Charles C. Comeaux, Donald
A. Comeaux and Gerald J. Comeaux, all of New Iberia and Ray J. Comeaux
of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Lou Ann Comeaux Dugas and Katie Comeaux
Morel, both of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Comeaux; and two sisters,
Gloria A. Comeaux and Elaine Comeaux Segura.

Ray Comeaux, Lou Ann Dugas and Katie Morel.

at 5:30 a.m. today, May 4, 1998, at Consolata Nursing Home.
He was a past member of the Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus
No. 1208 and a local business man involved in restaurants, service stations
and grocery stores.
Mr. Champeaux is survived by his wife, Marie Fruge’ Champeaux of New
Iberia; three sons, Donnie Champeaux of St. Martinville, Glenn Champeaux
and Ned Champeaux Jr. both of New Iberia; two sisters, Mrs. Claude Broussard
and Nettie LeBlanc, both of New Iberia; four grandsons, Cedric Champeaux
of Westlake, Chris Champeaux of St. Martinville, Sgt. Jason Champeaux of
Fort Braggs, N.C. and Troy Champeaux of Maracaibo, Venezuela; and one granddaughter,
Mary Catherine Champeaux of St. Martinville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Iola Broussard Champeaux;
and two brothers, Fred Champeaux and Leonard Champeaux.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her mother, Elnora Rentrope Joseph of Franklin;
two sons, Patrick Fitzgerald Parker of Franklin and John Meredith Parker
of Lafayette; one daughter, Patty Jo Defils of Franklin; two brothers,
Israel Parker of Abbeville and James Parker of Richmond, Calif.; and six
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; one daughter; four brothers;

and four step great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jumonville was preceded in death by her parents, Oneziphore Duhon
and Idea’ Broussard Duhon; her husband, Ernest J. Jumonville Sr.; three
sons, Ernest J. Jumonville Jr., Adam Jumonville and Willie Jumonville;
and seven brothers.

She worked for Dr. Francis Dalton formore than 30 years, and was presently
employed with Dr. Cornelius Voorhies. Mrs. Leleux was a dental assistant
for over 40 years.
She is survived by two sons, Chris Leleux of New Iberia and Durice
“Joey” Leleux III of Buda, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Leleux LeBlanc
of New Iberia and Angie Leleux of Avery Island; two brothers, Albert Belaire
of Breaux Bridge and Robert Belaire of New Iberia; three sisters, Elise
Champagne and Yola Doucet, both of Parks, and Betty Pharr of New Iberia;
seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Leleux was preceded in death by her parents, William and Cecile
Barras Belaire; and one sister, Theresa Pourcheaux.

Mrs. Dugas is survived by three sons, Dalton Dugas and A.J. Dugas,
both of Coteau Holmes, and Harry Dugas of St. Martinville; one daughter,
Mrs. Edrick (Aline) Daigle of Coteau Holmes; 24 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren;
and 36 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fernest Dugas; one daughter,
Euline Guidry; her parents, Adamar and Arsen Dugas Berard; four brothers,
Zachary Berard, Anisette Berard, Dauvest Berard and Overn Berard; five
sisters, Carmelite Verret, Odelie Vincent, Dea Molbert, Odile Bernard and
Felecie Blanchard; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

LAFAYETTE - Memorial services for Gloria Jean Stake, 56, will begin

A native of Bossier City and resident of Little Rock, Ark., Mrs. Stake
died Thursday, April 30, 1998.
She was a school teacher for 30 years and a member of Parkway Place
Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stake is survived by her husband, J.D. Stake; three sons, Jay
Stake of Little Rock, Jon Stake of Lafayette and Joel Stake of Alexandria;
two brothers, Charles Lacy and James Lacy both of New Iberia; and one sister,
Cathy Crawford of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Everna Lacy;
and one sister, Rachel Lacy.
