Dewey Kennedy
Dewey Kennedy, 98 of Holly and Indian River, MI, died March 26, at his home in Holly, MI. Mr. Kennedy was born in Lynnville, KY on June 23, 1910. Feb. 23, 1935, he married Grace Kimmel in Detroit, MI. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He was an avid wood-worker. Dewey is survived by his wife; Grace, children; Jenet Gemmell of Owendale, Roger (Joyce) or Ray Twp, Ruth (Royal) Clippert of Clarskton/Indian River, Jerry (Barbara) of Holly, Nancy Lauer of New Baltimore, Joyce (Edward) Mijak of Washington/Indian River, Gale (Thomas) Rasmussen of Traverse City; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials to Genesys Hospice. Lewis E. Wint and Son Funeral handled arrangements.

Richard D. Nolan
Richard D. Nolan, 73 of Bloomfield Hills, died April 4 at his home. Mr. Nolan was born on Sept. 16, 1926 in Detroit. His funeral will be Monday, April 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Regis Church, Clawson, MI. Visitation is at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Sunday, April 9 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mr. Nolan was a resident of Bloomfield Hills since 1954. He retired in 1988 as President of Advance Stamping of Redford Twp. He was appointed by Governor Milliken to the Safety Commission to help set standards for safety in the workplace. Mr. Nolan also served as a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was a member of the Yankee Airforce and an accomplished pilot and sailor. After his retirement, he enjoyed developing and writing computer software. He also enjoyed flying, sailing, traveling, fishing, and his family. Richard is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Anne, Dan (Jennifer), Chris (Wanda), Patrick (Carla), Kathy (Jack) Nellis, Gregory, and Bryan (Maartje), and 9 grandchildren. Memorial contributions appreciated to the Cross In The Woods in Indian River.

Violet J. (Scotty) Tippen
Violet J. (Scotty) Tippen, 69, of Wolverine died Tuesday, April 4 at her home. A memorial service will take place Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at Lintz Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by the Indian River Eagles Auxiliary, Cochran Roberts VFW Auxiliary and Robert Vroman American Legion Auxiliary. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service. There will be a second memorial service at the Lion Lutheran Church in Petoskey at 1 p.m., Friday, April 7. Arrangements are being handled by Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River. Violet J. (Scotty) Tippen
Violet J. (Scotty) Tippen, 69, of Wolverine died Tuesday, April 4 at her home. A memorial service was held Thursday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at Lintz Funeral. 

Adam A. Waldecker
Adam A. Waldecker, 98 of Alanson, died Friday, May 26 at Cheboygan Health Care Center. A Mass of the Resurrection was held Thursday, June 1 at noon at the Cross in the Woods Catholic Church. Visitation was held at the Cross in the Woods from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Shrine Cemetery in Indian River.

Roger L. Tykoski
Roger L. Tykoski, 52 of Wolverine, died Friday, July 28 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord.
His funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 1 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Gaylord. Rev. John McCracken officiated. Burial took place at Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Roger Tykoski Memorial Fund through the Nelson Funeral Home, 135 N. Center, Gaylord, MI 49735.

Michael J. Bunker
Michael J. Bunker, 44 of Indian River, died Sunday, July 30 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
His funeral was held Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Hope Lutheran Church in Indian River. The Rev. James Dunham officiated. Burial took place at the Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine.
The family suggests memorials to the Hope Lutheran Church in Indian River.

Frieda M. Theaker
Frieda M. Theaker, 90 of Wolverine, died Sunday, July 30 at her home.
Her funeral was at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2 at Wolverine Baptist Church, Rev. Pastor Orville Theaker officiated and burial was at Silver Lake Cemetery, Wolverine, MI.
The family suggests memorials to Wolverine Baptist Church.

Shirley McGee Notman
Shirley McGee Notman, 89 formerly of Indian River, died at her apartment at Independence Village in Petoskey.
Private family services are planned.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Little Traverse Bay, 416 Connable, Petoskey, MI 49770 or Little Traverse Conservancy, 2364 Powell Rd. Harbor Springs, MI 49740.

Geraldine Thompson
Geraldine Thompson, 73 of Afton and formerly of Atlanta, died Tuesday, August 1.
Her memorial will be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of the Straits in Cheboygan.

Gary L. Woodring
Gary L. Woodring, 57 of Indian River, died August 2.
His memorial service was held on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. at the Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River officiated by Chaplain John Wallace. 
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

William A. Godwin, 85 of Wolverine, died Monday Sept. 11 at his home.
His funeral was held Friday, Sept. 15 at Williams Funeral Home in Greenfield, TN. Burial took place in Morris Cemetery.

Ruth B. Lugibihl
Ruth B. Lugibihl, 77 of Wolverine, died Thursday, Sept. 14 at her home.
Her funeral was Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Wolverine Baptist Church with Rev. Orville Theaker officiating. Burial took place in the Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine.
Her family suggests memorials to the Wolverine Baptist Church or Hospice of the Straits.

Charles W. Barnard
Charles W. Barnard, 75 of Burt Lake, died Thursday, Oct. 12 at his home.
His interment will take place at Cadillac Memorial Gardens in Mount Clemens, MI.
The family suggests memorials to the Parkinson's Foundation.

Lyle (Spike) D. McCauley
Lyle (Spike) D. McCauley, 72 of Indian River, died Oct. 6 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
His funeral was Oct. 9 at Lintz Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Montgomery officiated.
Memorials are suggested to the McCauley family.

Mary Gronseth Otto
Mary Gronseth Otto, 70 of Indian River, died recently.
Her funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 13 at the Topinabee Community Church in Topinabee.

Jean G. Weaver
Jean G. Weaver, 82 formerly of Indian River, died Oct. 10 at St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia.
Her graveside service was held Saturday, Oct. 14 at Ohioville Cemetery. Rev. Marvin Redmond officiated.
Arrangements were in care of the Lintz Funeral Home of Indian River.

Charles J. Winkler
Charles J. Winkler, 69 of Wolverine, died Tuesday, Sept. 19 in Boyne City.
A graveside service was held Sept. 22, at Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine. The Rev. Carl Litchfield officiated.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994 and a sister Betty, who died in 1975.
