Frank B. Benally

Frank B. Benally, 62, of Farmington passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at his home. He was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Crownpoint.

Funeral services for Mr. Benally will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at the Jesus Saves Church on the Bisti Hwy. (Hwy 371), just past the Farmington city limits, with Pastor Ervin Frank officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington, 327-5142.

 

Blaine E. Edwards

Blaine E. Edwards of Aztec passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at Crane's Roost Care Home in Aztec. Mr. Edwards was born Aug. 3, 1909, in Lincoln, Kan., to Harry and Mary Edwards. He married a lovely lady named Dorothy Gates Feb. 10, 1944, who preceded him in death in 1997. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Bud Edwards. He retired from his work in the oil fields and was a veteran of World War II.

Blaine is survived by a brother, Eldon L. Edwards, of Olathe, Kan.; and sisters-in-law, Edith Gates of Farmington and Emma Edwards of McPherson, Kan.

Blaine was a kind soul and had numerous special friends who loved him very much, including his closest friends, Dave and Tammy Rasmussen and their children, Candice, Dustin and Christopher, who considered him family in every sense of the word. Also, longtime friends, Helen Rummel, Leona Schulze, Warren Carruth, Harley Rummel, Kurt and Vivian Hesselden, and many more. Cherished friends are Kathy Vigil and Patrick and Amy Hardin, who went out of their way to make him feel special and needed, and their young son, Bradley, whom Blaine also loved; and the many precious people at Crane's Roost with whom he shared the last year and a half of his life.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Chapel, 103 E. Ute St., Farmington, with Jack Wheat officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kurt Rasmussen, Patrick Hardin and Rod Conover. Honorary pallbearer is Eldon Edwards.

Bernetta Fuller

Bernetta Fuller, 64, a resident of Farmington since 1956, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Mrs. Fuller was born in Juniper, New Brunswick, Canada and became a U.S. citizen Dec. 17, 1968.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Feb. 23, 1999 at the Brewer, Lee & Larkin Chapel in Farmington with Pastor Steve Liparto officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Florenia C. 'Flora' Garcia

Florenia C. "Flora" Garcia, 80, of Farmington died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at San Juan Regional Medical Center. She born to Horacio and Eutemia Sanchez Oct. 1, 1918, in Los Chaves, N.M.

She is survived by a son, Martin Garcia and wife, Angie, of Farmington; and a daughter, Beatrice Loerwald and husband, Walter, of Las Vegas, Nev. She is also survived by three sisters, Clemen Gabaldon of Seattle, Wash., Feliz Romero of Tome, N.M., and Margie Womack of Grants, N.M. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel, in 1992.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St., in Farmington.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Farmington, with Monsignor Lindenmeyer as celebrant. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with her grandchildren as pallbearers.

Ruth Lansing Manning

Ruth Lansing Manning, 56, of Gamerco passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque. Mrs. Manning was born Dec. 30, 1942, in Aneth, Utah.

Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Chapel in Shiprock.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Shiprock, with Father John Paul Sauter officiating. Interment will follow at the family cemetery in Aneth.

Kelly D. (K.D.) Noland

Kelly D. (K.D.) Noland, 84, of Aztec died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at My Brother's Keeper after a lengthy illness. He was born March 5, 1914, in Colony, Okla.

He moved to San Juan County in 1950, and was employed by the Peabody Coal Co. for 10 years. His hobbies were back country horse packing and fly fishing.

Mr. Noland is survived by his daughter, Sharron Whitla and husband, Robin; sisters, Nell Osborne and husband, Otis, of Tulsa, Okla., and Willella Taylor of Shawnee, Okla; brother, Ralph Noland and wife, Donna, of Haysville, Kan.; and two grandchildren, Jesse Whitla and James Whitla. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Veda Noland; wife, Mamie Noland; sister, Hazel Noland; and brother, Glen Noland.

There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, at the Aztec Church of Christ, conducted by Arthur Blevins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be given in Kelly's name to My Brother's Keeper, 724 McCormick School Rd., Farmington, NM 87401.

The family of Kelly Noland would like to thank the staff of My Brother's Keeper for all the care and love given to our loved one.

Clyde H. Bachman

Clyde H. Bachman, 91, of Aztec died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in Aztec, N.M. He was born April 19, 1908, in Pagosa Springs.

He is survived by his brother, Harless A. Bachman of Eugene, Ore.; sisters, Francis Mabel of Ignacio, Colo., Goldie Koenig of Aztec, and Bessie Hobbs of Denver; and foster sister, Nadine Ford of Ignacio.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Harry W. Bachman and Earl R. Bachman; sisters Helen Sunshine Vance, Mary Williams and Ruth Blanch Montgomery; foster parents, Earl and Ruth Adams; and parents, Charles and Mabel Bachman.

Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. today, May 7, 1999, before the services at the church. 

Services will be at 10 a.m. today, May 7, at Bethel Baptist Church in Aztec, with the Rev. Bob Schlauger officiating. Interment will be at Hilltop Cemetery in Pagosa Springs.

Dwayne Dugger

Dwayne Dugger, 36, of Farmington passed away Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at San Juan Regional Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Joy; his mother, Toni Thomas; his father, W.T. Dugger; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Sr.; three sons, Cody, Tony and David; and one daughter, Kristi. He is also survived by brothers, Bruce and Steven Hagier; sisters, Debra Dugger and Jeanie Garietts; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at La Quey Funeral Home Chapel at noon on Saturday, May 8. Visitation will be from 9 until 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.

Gerald E. Ferris

Gerald E. Ferris, 72, of Aztec, N.M., died May 5, 1999, at Valley Inn Nursing Home in Mancos, Colo., after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services are pending.

John Newt Griffin

John Newt Griffin, 49, of Farmington died suddenly Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at San Juan Regional Medical Center. 

He is survived by his wife, Kaye Griffin; his mother and stepfather, Althea and Albert Greer; one sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Mike Dimond; and one niece and one nephew, Meghan and Matthew Dimond, all of Farmington.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 1999, at the First Presbyterian Church, 865 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington, with the Rev. Frank Hayes officiating. A private family interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Rose Ibarra

Rose Ibarra, 85, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at her residence. She was born to Adolpho and Lola Gallegos on March 7, 1914, in Pagosa Springs, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Barbara Maes; and one sister, Emelia Martinez.

Rose married Harry Ibarra Jan. 2, 1937, in McPhee, Colo. They lived in Durango, Colo., for 50 years, where she worked as an LPN at Mercy Hospital and Community Hospital. They moved to Farmington in 1987.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Ibarra of Farmington; one sons, Henry Ibarra Jr. and wife, Liz, of Grand Junction, Colo.; three daughters, Patricia Gagne and husband, Guy, of Lyman, Maine, Martha Beard and husband, Ellory of Orlando, Fla., Alecia Garrett and husband, Matt, of Loganville, Ga.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today, Friday, May 7, 1999, at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 N. Allen Ave., in Farmington, with Father Timothy Farrell officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Katrina Rose McCune

Graveside services for Katrina McCune will be held at 1 p.m. on today, May 7, 1999, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Farmington, with Father Tim Farrell officiating.

Margaret B. Shann

Margaret B. Shann, 65, of Kirtland, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at her home after a valiant fight with a lengthy illness. Margaret was born Jan. 16, 1934, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Obediah and Ada Moore Belcher. After living in many locations throughout the United States and abroad, Margaret settled in Kirtland, N.M., for the second time in 1992.

Margaret is survived by one son, Glen A. Christensen and wife, Laura, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two stepsons, George Shann and wife, Gina, of Florida, and Mark Shann and wife, Mary, of Colorado; two daughters, Margie Gale Guillory and husband, Troy, and Karen Guillory and husband, Leonard, all of Kirtland; one stepdaughter, Dolly Newman of Oregon; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Obediah and Ada Belcher; grandson, Torrance Lee Guillory; and granddaughter, Christen Gayle Guillory.

Visitation for Mrs. Shann will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 1999, prior to the funeral service.

Funeral services for Margaret will begin at 10 a.m. at the Kirtland LDS Church Wards 1, 2 and 3, with Brother Kurt Palmer conducting. Burial will follow at the Kirtland Community Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Matt Hansen, Glen Bloomfield, Carl Linn, Wayne Reynolds, Ray Anderson and Ron Jack. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Guillory, Jacob Guillory, Carson Guillory, Glen A. Christensen, Troy Guillory and Leonard Guillory.

Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Christina Ann Mihecoby, 17, of Farmington passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 1999, in Farmington. She was born Nov. 2, 1981, in Farmington to Mike Jr. and Shirley Mihecoby.

Funeral services for Christina will be at 10 a.m. today, Saturday, Oct. 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Farmington, with Monsignor Leo Gomez officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
